My sister visits, San Diego Chargers, Fantasy Football, and Burnin' Love

Yesterday for me was pretty awesome. I haven't had a Sunday, let alone a weekend, to be as super relaxing since school has been in full swing. With my sister coming up from her school in Monterey, it was only appropriate to take the weekend to spend time with my sister!

My sister, Erica, decided that she wanted to visit us during one weekend in which she didn't have loads of homework stacked on her. I made the decision to make the visit a surprise for my roommates  one being my older sister Crystal, who miss her very much. Fast forward 2 weeks and Erica arrives at my apartment and we head towards Japan Town in San Francisco last Friday.

Usually I never go out on a Friday; I'm usually at our place being a bum and either playing games or eating a bunch then sleeping. However, I wasn't questioned by Crystal and her boyfriend, Keni (who is the other roommate) when I told them that we should meet up there over at Japan Town. Me and Erica have sat down at a table and then a few minutes later we she Crystal and her boyfriend round the corner. Crystal recognizes that it was Erica and runs over to her and sheds a few tears. Bam, our surprise turned out well!

So we roll around in Japan Town for the majority of the weekend. Not a surprise since Erica loves the place. The day after we explored the mall over in San Bruno and caught up on what's been going on since both of our schools have started. Yesterday, we stayed at the apartment and did some homework (or at least tried to) and then went to Red Robin after a fail adventure in Berkeley.

Needless to say, her visit was nice break from the first month of school. Hopefully we have more visits soon!

Sunday also meant football. For those of you who don't know my favorite team is the San Diego Chargers. Growing up in San Diego and playing football when I was younger is the cause of me being a fan. The Chargers faced the Chiefs at their place which was tough for us last season. To be honest, going into the game I was pretty nervous due to KC's breakout comeback versus the Saints. They have Jammal Charles, one the elite RB's of the league, so it was important not to let him have a huge day.

Long story short, the Chargers dominated our inner-division rival in the Chiefs, 37-20. The defense went ham causing 6 turnovers that game. WE NEVER GET 6 TURNOVERS. Needless to say I was really excited seeing the game progress as time went along. The Chargers are atop the AFC West at 3-1, and that's a good quarterly outcome of September. We haven't done that well since 2002!

With football also comes with fantasy football. I'm participating in 2 leagues. One is on the NFL Network and the other on ESPN. I'm currently 3rd on the NFL Network but unfortunately on ESPN i'm trying to seek my first win. As of today, im 3-1 and 0-4 in their respective leagues. I'll do a separate blog on fantasy football later.

Lastly, I mentioned that I went to Red Robin yesterday. If you don't know what Red Robin is, then you need to go to one immediately! That restaurant has some of the best burgers and fries I've ever had. We have only eaten out a few times in downtown San Francisco, and since Erica visited this weekend, it was a must to eat here.

Now for those that actually care, here's what I got. I had to start with some onion rings, because they are delicious (for a more expletive answer for those who know me personally, onion rings are fucking amazing). Then I decided to try a new burger this time around. I always default to either the Whiskey River BBQ or the Guacamole Bacon burger. This time, though, I decided to go for something hot and chose the Burnin' Love burger. I actually had hoped that this burger would be decently hot and spicy but I was kind of let down. It had kick but it wasn't dramatically hot as I had hoped. Maybe it wasn't what I thought it was because I had a ton of Red Robin's amazing steak fries with their awesome seasoning. Oh well, if I want something spicy I'll just have some ramen with Sriracha.

Well that has been my weekend! A bit excessive but there was a lot to do! See you all next time. ;)

Peace out,
Alex
